We’ve all heard the cliche, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” The makers of Geico insurance commercials have, too, apparently. They’ve produced a brilliant new commercial that proves the theory, in a roundabout way.

The commercial is part of Geico’s “Rhetorical Questions” campaign, in which actor Mike McGlone poses questions that have obvious answers, such as “Do dogs chase cats?” and “Does it take two to tango?”
In case you’re curious, the pen/sword line seems to have originated nearly 200 years ago in”Richlieu; Or the Conspiracy” by British playwright Edward Bulwer-Lytton.
By the way, if any of you sharp-eyed readers recognize the pen in this commercial, let us know.
No it doesn’t exist. A taser is the closest thing but it takes contact to knock someone down.
I am interested in the “gadget” the Japanese gentleman used to vanquish the Ninja. Does it actually exist? Where could one obtain such a gadget if it does exist? Please advise and assist. Thank you, Lloyd Thompson. ([email protected]).
