I always like to have a nice sharp point on my pencil, but this causes problems when carrying it around. So how do you protect the point of the pencil and stop it from breaking when it is in your pocket, a pencil case, rucksack, or even at your desk and not in use?

I have to confess I am a bit of a Japanese stationery junky they always make good quality products that are a little different from the everyday western stationery brands.

Hi, nice site. I am looking for an item that I have as yet found the correct term for so I’m not having luck. While these pencil point protectors look great, and I’ll probably invest in some (AND it looks like some of them may serve the purpose I have in mind, but a bit long).
What I would like is to find little caps that will protect the eraser end of the pencil, but not by placing another eraser over it. You know how if your pencils are out exposed to the air, in time the eraser heads get kind of tough and they smear easily. I would like to place either a small plastic or small metal (or wood, who know) end piece to protect the eraser that comes standard with the pencil. Btw I’ve been enjoying the Staedtler blue and white striped pencils. If you get to this and have any ideas, much appreciated … Michael
You can use Tygon tubing or any tubing or straws for over size pencil point protectors.
Hello! My favorite pencils these days are the Faber-Castell jumbo and the Caran D’Ache big highlighters. Have you ever seen point protectors for these large pencils? Thanks!
Hi Jules I have not seen point protectors for oversized pencils. They may not exist as the graphite core tends to be thicker in this type of pencil and the points slightly blunter.
