Vintage Pen Collector Supplies Props to ‘Mad Men’
Just read a brilliant story about a man named George Fox who collects vintage ink pens from the 60s and 70s and loans items from his collection to the TV show ‘Mad Men’ to use a period props.
(If you haven’t seen Mad Men on AMC, it’s about the people at a New York ad agency in the 1960s.)
Pilot Pens for Children in Sri Lanka
We recently heard from a wonderful lady named Margaret who’d bought some Pilot Super Color Silver Markers for a trip she was taking to Sri Lanka.
Margaret works with a charity called Ocean Stars Trust, which was established in 2005 to help children and families whose lives were devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami. She was planning to work on arts/crafts and sports projects with children as part of a nine-day visit.
Chan Hwee Chong Reproduces Masterpieces Using One Single Spiralling Line
Faber-Castell has done something extraordinary to promote its Pitt Artist Pens with the help of the creative artist Chan Hwee Chong
The German writing instrument maker had the artist recreate three famous paintings – Van Gogh’s self-portrait, Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, and Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earring – using the popular drawing pens.
In and of itself, that’s nothing unusual.
Except for that artist, Chan Hwee Chong did it by using one single line spiraling out from the center of each piece.
Blog Review: Multi Pen Dimensions
Here at The Pen Vibe, we all love our G2s and Jetstreams and EnerGels – but we also love the unusual and unique pens that exist only because someone said, ‘Hey, what if…’
You know the ones, those Swiss Army pens that combine writing instruments, tools and toys into one cool little piece that are always fun to play with, even though they may not be practical for the workaday world. Whether it’s a multi-pen with three different inks and a pencil, or an engineer’s pen with calipers and a ballpoint, we find them fascinating.
And we can usually count on Yochanan at the Multi Pen Dimensions blog to keep us entertained with exactly those kinds of pens.
