So, I read this excellent piece over at Medium about keeping a notebook for memory and inspiration, and I couldn’t agree more with the notion of carrying a notebook with you everywhere you go.

Last year, I touched on why taking notes by hand still beats doing it digitally. It’s just a better process for most of us, especially if you are in the least bit creative. It comes from Germany as a collaboration between publisher Steidl, perfumer Geza Schoen and Wallpaper* magazine, apparently with a little Karl Lagerfeld thrown in as well.

You know how much we at The Pen Vibe admire those who can draw and paint, so we just had to share this guy’s work, even though he doesn’t work in paper and ink.

‘Jim’ is an artist with the Microsoft Paint program. According to his ‘Jim’ll Paint It‘ Tumblr, that’s all he uses to produce pieces requested by his fans.

I am here to make your wildest dreams a reality using nothing but Microsoft Paint (no tablets, no touch ups). Ask me to paint anything you wish and I will try no matter how specific or surreal your demands. While there aren’t enough hours in the day to physically paint every suggestion I will consider them all. Bonus points for originality and humour. Use your imagination!

Absolutely no idea how he does it, especially given the hallucinogenic natures of the things that people ask him to create.
