Have you seen the new eBay commercial about the guy and his ink pen?
Apparently, eBay is trying to reinvent itself – less of a used goods auction site, more of a shiny new things marketplace – with an advertising campaign that makes fun of, among other “old” things, ink pens and the people who use them.
Mention the name Stabilo & the first thing that comes to my mind are highlighter pens. I learned recently that these are not all this company produce. Needing to make notes on a black & white document I picked up a red Stabilo Worker rollerball with a medium 0.8mm tip from a local store.
Like most of you, we try to keep up with the blog and web activities of our favorite pen makers, but somehow we’ve managed to miss – until now – an intriguing project that Uniball is running online.
The Vision blog isn’t what you might expect from the company that makes some of the best gels and rollerballs in the world.
The blog isn’t really about pens, even though it’s named for a range of Uniball pen. Not exactly, anyway.
This Uni-ball Gel Impact has a broad 1.0mm ball. My first impression was that the black, silver & smokey grey barrel looked stylish. It is complimented by the silver nib housing & the rubber grip is comfortable to hold.
As the ink in gel pens is opaque & thick it tends to write a bold clear line, I liked the fact that the black ink was very intense.
I have always made a point of keeping a pen & paper in my car. This morning, I was pleased to be able to reach into my glove compartment & pick up a Pilot Rexgrip. Whilst taking a steady drive to the shops, somebody decided to try to park in my boot.
Details taken & not too much damage done, I thought that as I haven’t reviewed the Rexgip before I would bring it home & put it to the test.
