For me, the appeal of the Zebra F-301 Ultra ballpoint pen is all in the design.
The sleek stainless steel barrel, the encased no-nonsense clip, the grooved rubber grip. Some pens just look like they take writing very seriously, and the F-301 ballpoint is one of them. You pull one out of your pocket, and you’re telling the world, ‘I have important stuff to write down.’
When it comes to gel pens, the Pilot G2 always ranks near the top in ‘best of’ lists, and for good reason. Sure it’s a little overrated, but the bottom line is that Pilot has made a great smooth-writing pen with sexy shape and vibrant ink. And the Pilot G2 07 is probably one of the most reviewed gel pens on the planet.

I have to say that rollerballs are the first pens I reach for, whether it be to write a short note or pen a letter. I like the way the ink flows & the bold line that most of them seem to lay down on the page. The Zebra XA-07 arrow tip is a rollerball with liquid ink & a 0.7mm tip, after writing a page of the non-creative blurb I wasn’t disappointed.
