1. About Delta Pens

Delta Pens is an Italian manufacturer of luxury writing instruments established in 1982 by Ciro Matrone, Nino Marino, and Mario Muscente.

In 2017 Delta Pens ceased trading, the American fine writing instruments distributer YAFA bought the rights to the Delta brand name.

A year later, in 2018, Nino Marino launched another pen company called Majore.

Majora acquired all the rights and equipment for Delta Pen and relaunched Delta Pens in 2022.

The German refill manufacturer Schmidt Technologies manufactured and branded Delta ballpoint, and rollerball pen refills for Delta.

2. Delta Ballpoint Pen Refills

Delta made four ballpoint pen refills, a mini refill for compact pens, Parker Style G2 refills with ballpoint and gel ink, and a pressurized refill that works the same way as the Fisher Space Pen Refills.

2.1. Delta 635 Mini Ballpoint Pen Refills

Delta 635 Mini Ballpoint Pen Refill

The Delta 635 mini ballpoint pen refill is a standard-size D1 refill. Many manufacturers use this type of refill in compact and multi-function pens.

It measured 67mm in length and 2.3mm in diameter and was available with black or blue ink with a medium tip.

The original Delta Pen refills were Schmidt 635 refills branded by Schmidt for them. The Schmidt 635 refill is available in the following four ink colors:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Red

2.2. Delta D900 Ballpoint Pen Refills

The Delta D900 soft refill is a standard-size Parker Style G2 ballpoint pen refill used by many manufacturers in their ballpoint pens.

The refill had a 1.0mm tip and was available from Delta with black or blue ink.

The original Delta Pen D900 G2 refills were Schmidt P900 refills branded by Schmidt for them. The Schmidt P900 refill is available in the following colors and tip sizes:

  • Fine Tip – Black or Blue Ink
  • Medium Tip – Black, Blue, Red, Green, Magenta, Turquoise, and Violet ink
  • Broad Tip – Black or Blue Ink

2.3. Delta D8900 Ballpoint Pen Refills

The Delta D8900 refill is a capless Parker Style G2 Gel ink refill with a medium tip and black or blue ink.

The refill was a rebranded Schmidt P8900 Capless Refill that is now no longer made by Schmidt.

Several alternative options exist; Parker Pens makes a G2 format gel refill with black or blue ink. Or the Schneider Gelion 39 is a G2 format gel refill available in black, blue, red, or green ink,

2.4. Delta Megaline 4889 Pressurizes Ballpoint Pen Refill

The Delta Megaline 4889 refill is a pressurized ballpoint pen refill that can write at any angle.

It has a medium tip with black or blue ink.

The original Delta Pen 4889 pressurized refills were Schmidt Megaline 4889 refills branded by Schmidt for them.

3. Delta Rollerball Pen Refills

Delta rollerball pens are fitted with a standard-size refill. They can also use a fineliner refill that has the same dimensions.

3.1. Delta 5888 Rollerball Pen Refills

The Delta 5888 refill is a standard-size Euro Format refill measuring 110.6mm in length and 6.3mm in diameter.

It has a medium tip with black or blue ink.

The original Delta Pen 5888 refills were Schmidt Safety Ceramic Roller 5888 refills branded by Schmidt for them. The Schmidt 5888 refill is available in the following colors and tip sizes:

The Schmidt 5888 refill is available in the following colors and tip sizes:

  • Schmidt Safety Ceramic Roller Refill 5888 F – black, blue, red, or green ink
  • Schmidt Safety Ceramic Roller Refill 5888 M – black, blue, red, green, magenta, turquoise, violet, light-green, pink, and orange
  • Schmidt Safety Ceramic Roller Refill 5888 B – black or blue ink

Schmidt also makes a cheaper version with a plastic barrel, the Schmidt 888 F, M, B refill.

3.2. Delta 6040 Fineliner Rollerball Pen Refills

The Delta 6040 Fineliner refill is a standard size Euro Format rollerball pen refill and fits Delta rollerball pens and any other make of pen that takes this size refill.

It is a liquid ink refill with black or blue ink and a spring-loaded 1.0mm fiber tip.

The original Delta Pen 6040 refills were Schmidt Fineliner 6040 M refills branded by Schmidt for them.

The Schmidt Fineliner 6040 M refill is available in the following colors:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Red
  • Green
  • Magenta
  • Turquoise
  • Violet
  • Light-Green

  • Orange

3.3. Delta Capless Mini 8126 Rollerball Pen Refills

The Delta Capless mini rollerball pen refill is a compact metal refill with smooth writing liquid ink. Ti has a fine 0.6mm tip with black or blue ink.

 Unlike traditional rollerball pens, if you leave the pen’s cap off for a long time, its ink will not dry out.

The original Delta Mini 8126 refills were Schmidt Capless System mini 8126 refills branded by Schmidt for them.

4. Delta Fountain Pen Refills

Delta fountain pens use short international standard-size ink cartridges. Using an ink converter, you can refill your Delta fountain pen with bottled ink.

The Schmidt K1 push-in ink converter will fit most Delta fountain pens.

Until 2017 Delta bottled fountain pen ink came in 30 ml bottles in the following colors:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Brown
  • Green
  • Red
  • Yellow

Now that Delta Pens has relaunched in 2022, we are still waiting to see what the new Delta bottled ink colors there will now be.
