1 Parker Style G2 Ballpoint Pen Refills
In 1954 Parker launched their first ballpoint pen, and then three years later, in 1957, they improved the refill. This was known as a T-ball refill and was revolutionary at that time. It had a tungsten carbide ball with a textured surface that significantly improved the writing experience combined with a new ink formula.
The design of the new Parker refill was patented, and no other pen manufacturer could copy it. Many years later, Parker gave up the patent, and the design of this refill became an international standard according to ISO standard 12757.
As you can see from the image above taken from ISO 12757, the G2 refill is the one that was invented by Parker for their Jotter ballpoint pens, and hence the name Parker Style G2 refills came about.

2 Parker Style G2 Gel Pen Refills
Ballpoint pens are great as they are a very forgiving pen that will write on most papers, even the cheapest ones you can find. However, due to the nature of the ink, they require a bit of effort to push the pen across the paper, and the ink color isn’t very vibrant.
Parker realized this and brought out their Parker G2 gel ink refill, which is a lot smoother flowing, and the inks are a dense brilliant blue and black color.

Hi there! I have a fun little swirly-acrylic mini pen which takes a parker-style refill BUT it’s only about 2 1/2″ long. There are no markings on the pen at all. Hi there… While I love the versatility of a ballpoint, I really enjoy the fluidity and lack of writing pressure when using a gel. Is the writing pressure of a hybrid negligible when compared to a gel, or is the hybrid close to my normal ballpoint pressure?
Last, based on your detailed review above, am I correct in understanding that the only broad gel G2 refill is the Pelikan337, that the only broad hybrid is the Schmidt P900, and that the only extra-broad, is the Schneider Slider 755 hybrid?
